Surfing regional selection trial and state championship information.

Information	Combined 13–19 Years
Trial date	Friday 4 June 2027
Trial starts	8am to 2pm
Venue	Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island
Officials meeting	A meeting of team officials will be held at Pt Lookout at 7:30am
Catering	Bring own food and water as there are no facilities near the venue
Equipment	Student to supply own equipment - sunscreen, wax, surfboard, wetsuit, towel, hat and water bottle.
Shade	There is limited shade available - bring own beach umbrella etc.
Competitors	This trial will be a Direct to Met East Trial process. Students wishing to attend the trial, will need to obtain a nomination form from the School Sport Co-Ordinator. Nominations will be on INDIVIDUAL basis, not by District team. A quota of 24 students per event due to lack of available time for trials. School Surfing is a short board competition. NOTE: Students must hold a Surf Survival, Surf Bronze medallion, Surf Rescue Certificate or Community Bronze. Students who do not hold one of these awards will NOT be able to compete UNLESS a Parent is present on the day.
Trial	Heats will be drawn and 50% progression from each heat into Semi Finals and Finals which will determine the team selected.
Competition rules	As per Surfing Australia rule book.
Umpires/Referees	Accredited surfing judges will be present at the trial, as well as the trial convenor to oversee selections.
Selection procedures	As per MESSB policy, one teacher from each district may nominate for the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
First aid	Full lifeguard service will be on duty at the trial.
Risk management	A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment (CARA) has been completed for this activity.
Alternate date	In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held TBA All other arrangements will remain the same.
State championships	The QRSS 13-19yrs Surfing State Championship will be held in South Coast Region, 29 July - 1 August 2027.
