Selection proceduresAs per MESSB policy, one teacher from each district team may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel.  Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.

TWO teams (Navy and White) of 17 players will be selected to represent Met East at the State Championship.

Risk management

A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment (CARA) has been completed for this activity.

Students must provide and use their own mouthguard. This is a CARA requirement.

COVID-19 Safe Event:
The Qld Government COVID Safe Event Checklist has been completed for this trial.
To comply with the COVID Safe Event Plan, spectators will be allowable with the following restrictions/conditions enforced:
All spectators MUST adhere to social distancing
Players are encouraged to bring personal hand sanitiser, although sanitiser will be available if needed.
Players must bring their own water bottles to reduce the use of the communal bubbler.
Players must arrive in their playing gear, as change rooms will not be accessible.
If a student or parent/carer is feeling unwell, they are NOT to attend the trial.  Standard Met East Absent competitor procedures will be in place if a student still wished to be considered for selection but cannot attend the trial due to feeling unwell or isolating.
This may be reviewed if COVID restrictions change before the date of the trial
Alternate dateIn the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on TBA.  All other arrangements will remain the same.In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on TBA.  All other arrangements will remain the same.
State championships

The QSS 11-12yrs Rugby League State Championship will be held in Maroochydore on the 23-28 June 2022.

The Vic Jensen Shield Competition (10-11yrs) will be held in Townsville on the 4-8 July 2022.

The QSS 11-12yrs Girls Rugby League State Championship will be held in Arana Hills JRLC on the 15-18 September 2022.

Competitors
Competing districts are as follows:
14-15yrs Age Group:
Bayside / South = one combined team of 16 players
Logan = two teams of 16 players each (these are to be evenly distributed with playing talent, not an A's and B's). 
Composite = one  team of 16 players
16-18yrs Age Group:
Individual nomination
Each school is encouraged to nominate any eligible and suitably competent player to participate at the regional trial. Please note that there is no district trial process; students will be nominated directly to the regional trial convenor via the School Sports Co-ordinator.

LOGAN DISTRICT:  District Trial.  The district is invited to nominate TWO teams with a MAXIMUM 19 players for EACH Age group.

BAYSIDE/COMPOSITE/SOUTH DISTRICT:  Individual nomination.  Each school is encouraged to nominate any eligible and suitably competent player to participate at the regional trial. Please note that there is no district trial process; students will be nominated directly to the regional trial convenor via the School Sports Co-ordinator.

The QSS 14-15yrs & 16-18yrs Boys Rugby League State Championship will be held at Burleigh Bears on 21 May –  24 May 2022.  The QSS 14-15yrs & 16-18yrs Girls Rugby League State Championship will be held at Gladstone​ on 5 - 8 May 2022.
