Basketball regional selection trial and state championship information.

Information	Combined 10-12yrs
Trial date	Tuesday 15 June 2027
Trial starts	8am to 2:30pm
Venue	Hibiscus Sports Complex Klumpp Road, Upper Mt Gravatt
Officials meeting	8am
Catering	A canteen will be operating at the venue. Students must bring their own water bottle.
Equipment	Each District team is required to supply 1 leather match ball Size 6 (females) or Size 7 (males).
Competitors	Each District can nominate a team of 10 players.
Shade	NA
Trial	District Team officials will be sent a draw for the day prior to the trial.
Competition Rules	As per FIBA rules. Games times will be modified.
Umpires	Where possible, Association Umpires will be used for each game. However, team officials may be called upon to assist with umpiring.
Selection procedures	As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
First aid	Sports Medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the trial.
Risk management	A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity. The Qld Government COVID Safe Event Checklist and Certificate of Compliance has been completed for this trial; planning and the venue complies with the COVID Industry Plan for Indoor sports.
State championships	The QRSS 10-12yrs Boys and Girls Basketball State Championship will be held in Peninsula Region, 2 - 5 September 2027.

Equipment	Students to supply their own playing equipment.
Competitors	Each District is able to nominate a team of 10 players.
Trial	District team officials will receive a draw prior to the trial day. This is a trial only. The trial may include skills and shooting sessions and modified games across the day. Boys - will be nominated to attend a District trial, from which each District choose a District team to attend the Met East trial day. Girls - The process for girls will be a direct to Met East trial nomination process. Nomination forms can be obtained from Sports Co-ordinators at the school. The regional convenor will then advise the schools of which students can attend the Met East trial day.
Competition rules	Regular game rules as per FIBA guidelines. Game times will be modified.
Umpires	Where possible, Association referees will be used for each game.
