Basketball regional selection trial and state championship information.

Trial date	Tuesday 16 April 2024
Trial starts	8am to 3pm
Venue	Hibiscus Sports Complex Klumpp Road, Upper Mt Gravatt
Officials meeting	8am
Catering	A canteen will operate serving basic food and drinks across the day. Students must bring their own water bottle.
Equipment	Each team is to supply 2 warm-up balls and sanitiser

Cost	NIL
Umpires	Where possible, Association Umpires will be used for each game.
Trial	Team coaches and managers will have a run sheet for the day.
Selection procedures	As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
Competition rules	Games will be played as 2 x 15 min halves - running clock. 3 min half time 3 min warm up time Teams can have 1 x 1 min timeout per half (stopped clock) Fouls are being recorded - 5 team fouls prior to being in the bonus 5 personal fouls prior to being removed from play There will be no overtime played.
First aid	Sports Medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the trial.
Risk management	A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity. The Qld Government COVID Safe Event Checklist and Certificate of Compliance has been completed for this trial; planning and the venue complies with the COVID Industry Plan for Indoor sports.
Student Officials	Queensland School Sport actively promotes the development of students becoming sport officials through the Queensland School Sport student officials' program. Students who wish to nominate to officiate at the State Championship are encouraged to register their interest via the Qld School Sport website. https://queenslandschoolsport.education.qld.gov.au/officials/student-officials Registrations for 2024 QSS State Championship events will open early in 2024.
State championships	The QRSS 10-12yrs Boys and Girls Basketball State Championship will be held in Rockhampton, 6 - 9 June 2024.

13–19 Years
