This is a full contact sport and demonstrated competence at the Under 14 AFL level is expected.

| Trial | Competition draw will be determined based on participants. | Warm-up and skills session, players will be divided into teams to participate in a round robin process. A possible/probables game may be held if required. |
| Selection procedures | As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district team may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held. |
