Volleyball regional selection trial and state championship information.

13-15 Years

Information	Boys & Girls 13-15yrs
Trial date	Friday 16 April 2027
Trial starts	8:30am - 2:30pm
Venue	Nissan Arena
Officials meeting	7:50am
Catering	Students are advised to bring their own food and water, a kiosk with limited food items will be open.
Equipment	Each team is required to supply match balls, whistles for student referees, and sanitiser wipes for all equipment.
Shade	Not Applicable - indoor venue. Two shaded areas will also be provided outside the hall.
Competitors	Each district is invited to nominate one team of 10 players
Trial	Competition Draw will be sent to District officials prior to the trial.
Competition rules	Match playing time to be 30 mins, with a 10 min warm up prior to the start. Changing ends and a time out after 15 min and substitutions are at the discretion of the District coaches. Point scoring will be basketball style wihout using 'sets'. Games will start and finish on the signal from the convenor. Warm up will be the standard 10 min VQ protocol and will commence as soon as the signal to finish the previous game has sounded.
Umpires/Referees	Team officials will be rostered for umpiring duties.
Selection procedures	As per MESSB policy, one teacher from each district team may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
First aid	Sports medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the trial.
Risk management	A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment (CARA) has been completed for this activity.
State Championship	The QRSS 13-15yrs Volleyball State Championship will be held in Sunshine Coast Region, 17 - 20 June 2027.

16-19 Years

Information	Boys & Girls 16-19yrs
Trial Date	Wednesday 19 May 2027
Trial Starts	8:30am - 2:30pm
Venue	Nissan Arena
Officials Meeting	7:50am
Catering	Students are advised to bring their own food and water, a kiosk with limited food items will be open.
Equipment	Each District team is required to supply numbered playing shirts (or numbered bibs) for each player in the team. Districts will need to supply balls for warmup. Match balls will be supplied.
Competitors	Each district is invited to nominate one team of 10 players.
Trial	Competition Draw will be sent to District officials prior to the trial.
Competition Rules	As per Volleyball rules, with the following modifications: * Scoring will be accumulative - no sets will be played * Matches will be time limited to 30 mins. * Optional Time out at 14 mins. (1 min) * Warmup will be 10 mins.
Umpires/Referees	Where possible, referees will be provided. Team officials may be rostered for umpiring duties.

Teams to play a 30min game, change ends after 15min (no break), no official substitution rule, no time outs. Point scoring and game time will start and finish on the signal. A possible vs probable game may be played if required.

State Championship	The QRSS 16-19yrs Volleyball State Championships will be held in Metropolitan West Region 22 - 25 July 2027.
