Tennis regional selection trial and state championship information.

10–12 Years

Information	Combined 10–12yrs
Trial date	Friday 16 April 2027
Trial starts	8:00am - 3:00pm
Venue	Griffith University Tennis Centre
Catering	Students are advised to bring their own food and water.
Equipment	Students to provide their own gear
Shade	Adequate shade at the venue
Competitors	Each team is invited to nominate one team of 8 players (4 boys and 4 girls)
Trial	Trial will consist of a double elimination full feed in draw (main draw, consolation draw). The top two players from the main draw and the top two players from the consolation draw will be selected to make up the Metropolitan East Team
Competition rules	All rounds prior to the semi-final will be first to 4 games with tie-breakers. Full sets for semis and finals.
Umpires/Referees	Students umpire own games.
Selection procedures	As per MESSB policy, one teacher from each district team may be nominated as a member of the selection panel. Selections will be final and no further playoffs will be held.
First aid	Sports medicine personnel will be available for the duration of this trial.
Risk management	A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment (CARA) has been completed for this activity.
Alternate date	In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on TBA. All other arrangements will remain the same.
State Championship	The QRSS 10 – 12Yrs Tennis State Championship will be held in Capricornina Region, 17 - 20 June 2027.

13–19 Years

Information	Combined 13–19yrs
Trial date	Thursday 4 February 2027
Trial starts	7:30am for an 8:00am start
Venue	Griffith University Tennis Centre, Sports Road, Mt Gravatt
Catering	A canteen will operate at the trial. Students may bring their own food.
Equipment	Students to supply all personal equipment. Tennis balls will be supplied.
Shade	There is adequate shade at the venue.
Competitors	This trial will be a Direct to Met East trial process. Individual nominations forms can be obtained from their school sport co-ordinator and should be returned to their sport co-ordinator by Wednesday 30 January 2025. Students should not nominate unless they have Australian Tennis ranking and/or extensive tournament experience. Draw may be restricted to 16 for males and 16 for females. Selection for trials based on Australian Rankings first then convenor discretion.
Trial	Competition draw and feed in draw.
Competition rules	1 Restricted draw of 16 or less for both boys & girls. 2. Rounds 1/2 - Main Draw: 1st to 6. Tiebreak at 5 all; Round 3: 1st to 9 Pro set. 3. Semi Finals - Main Draw - 1st to 9 Pro set. 4. Feed-in for losers of rounds 1/2/3/4: 1st to 6 games. Tiebreak at 5 all. 5. Semi Finals - Feed-in - 1st to 9 Pro set. 6. The semi-finals of both the main draw and feed in will be used to select the one team of four boys and one team of four girls. Competitors will call their own end. In the event of a dispute, a player may ask to leave the court to get an official.
Umpires/Referees	Students will umpire their own matches.
Selection procedures	Selection procedures will be as per MESSB policy.
First aid	Sports medicine personnel will be available for the duration of this trial.
Risk management	A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment (CARA) has been completed for this activity.
Alternate date	In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, no further trials will be conducted. The team will be selected by the tournament convenor and regional officials.
State Championship	The QRSS 13-19yrs Tennis State Championship will be held in Sunshine Coast Region 11 - 14 March 2027.
