TrialTrial will consist of a double elimination full feed in draw (main draw, consolation draw). The top two players from the main draw and the top two players from the consolation draw will be selected to make up the Metropolitan East Team
Selection proceduresAs per MESSB policy, one teacher from each district team may be nominated as a member of the selection panel.  Selections will be final and no further playoffs will be held.
Competition rulesAll matches will be first to 6, tie break at 5 all
First aidSports medicine personnel will be available for the duration of this trial.
Risk management

A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment (CARA) has been completed for this activity.

Alternate dateIn the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on TBA.  All other arrangements will remain the same.
State ChampionshipThe QRSS 10 – 12Yrs Tennis State Championship will be held at Tennyson Tennis centre, 13 - 16 June 2024.

13–19 Years

CateringA canteen will operate at the trial. Students may bring their own food.
EquipmentStudents to supply all personal equipment.  Tennis balls will be supplied.
ShadeThere is adequate shade at the venue.
CompetitorsIndividual nominations forms can be obtained from their school sport co-ordinator and should be returned to their sport co-ordinator by ​Wed 31 Jan 2024.
Students will be advised of the outcome of their nomination by Thursday 1 Feb.
Submitting a nomination does not guarantee an invitation to trial. 
Students should not nominate unless they have Australian Tennis ranking and/or extensive tournament experience. Draw may be restricted to 16 for males and 16 for females. Selection for trials based on Australian Rankings first then convenor discretion.

UmpiresStudents will umpire their own matches.
TrialCompetition draw and feed in draw.
Selection procedures1 Restricted draw of 16 or less for both boys & girls.
2. Rounds 1/2 - Main Draw: 1st to 6. Tiebreak at 5 all; Round 3: 1st to 9 Pro set.
3. Semi Finals - Main Draw - 1st to 9 Pro set.
4. Feed-in for losers of rounds 1/2/3/4: 1st to 6 games. Tiebreak at 5 all.
5. Semi Finals - Feed-in - 1st to 9 Pro set.
6. The semi-finals of both the main draw and feed in will be used to select the one team of four boys and one team of four girls.
Competition rulesCompetitors will call their own end.  In the event of a dispute, a player may ask to leave the court to get an official.
First aidSports medicine personnel will be available for the duration of this trial.

Alternate date

In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, no further trials will be conducted. The team will be selected by the tournament convenor and regional officials.

State Championship

The QRSS 13-19yrs Tennis State Championship will be held University of Qld, 4 - 7 March 2024.
