Touch football regional selection trial and state championship information.

10–12 Years

Information	Combined 10–12yrs
Trial date	Friday 28 May 2027
Trial timing	8:30am - 3pm
Venue	Redlands Touch
Officials meeting	A meeting with officials will be held at 7:45am
Catering	A canteen will operate at the trial.
Equipment	Students to supply thier own personal equipment. eg football boots
Shade	No extra shade will be made available at the venue. District teams are encouraged to provide their own tent.
Competitors	Each District is invited to nominate one team of 14 players.
Trial	Draw will be provided to District officials prior to the trial.
Competition rules	All games shall be 25 mins in total. 12 mins each half only with 1 min half time. The team winning from the toos shall choose the direction they will run or tap of ball. This allows for players to change direction. TFA edition 7 - sub boxes will be in use. Substitution must be made from the sub box only.
Umpires/Referees	Where possible, referees will be provided. District team officials may be required to referee games.
Selection procedures	As per MESSB policy, one teacher from each district team may be nominated for the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held. Given that this is primarily a selection trial, District Coaches need to be aware of the policy on Regional team selection.
First aid	Sports medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the trial.
Risk management	A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment (CARA) has been completed for this activity.
Alternate date	In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held TBC. All other arrangements will remain the same.
State Championship	The QRSS 10-12yrs Boys Touch State Championship will be held in North West Region, 9 - 12 September 2027. The QRSS 10-12yrs Girls Touch State Championship will be held in Capricornia Region, 29 July - 1 August 2027.

13–19 Years

Information	Combined 13–15yrs and 16–18yrs
Trial date	Wednesday 14 April 2027
Trial starts	8am
Venue	BMTA, Whites Hill Reserve Boundary Road, Camp Hill
Officials meeting	District officials to meet at 7:50am
Catering	A limited canteen will operate at the venue. It is recommended that students bring own food and drinks.
Equipment	Each team to provide a match ball and own warm up equipment. Students to provide their own playing gear eg boots, water bottle etc. No sharing of equipment.
Shade	Some shade is available. Teams are encouraged to bring extra shade shelter if required.
Trial	Draw will be sent to District officials prior to the trial.
Competitors	Each District is invited to nominate one team of 12-14 players.
Competition rules	As per Touch Football Aust Ed 8 Rules. Modified for trial - 15 min halves, no half time, touch down - turn around rules will apply. After a touchdown, the scoring team immediately turns around and defends the scoreline they just scored on and play restarts with the other team attacking the opposite end.
Umpires/Referees	Association referees will be used to referee games where available. Team officials may be required to referee a game when their own team is not playing.

This involves the commitment of all selected players for the duration of the State Championship. Please note that “Possibles vs Probables” games MAY be conducted in all divisions this year. The Convenor shall be responsible for the allocation of selectors and the conduct of all selections. The Regional Coach shall chair all deliberations.
