Catering:
  A canteen will operate at the trial.
 
Equipment:
Each team is required to supply training and warmup gear and a game ball.
Students will need to supply all personal equipment (eg water, boots, sunscreen, strapping )
 
Shade:
No shade is provided. Teams should bring shade if required.
 
Competitors:
Each District is invited to nominate one team of 14 players.
 
1 Boys 15 -18 Yrs, 1 Girls 15 - 18yrs, 1 Boys 13 -15yrs, 1 Girls 13 - 15yrs

In the event that a district may have strong depth in an age group they can make application to the convenor to request an additional team.
 
 
Referees
Where possible, accredited referees will be used for each game.  However, team officials may be called upon to assist in umpiring when their own team is not playing.
 
Please bring a whistle and suitable attire.
 
Selection
Procedures:
SELECTION : 
Given that this is primarily a selection trial, District Coaches need to be aware of the policy on Regional team selection. This involves the commitment of all selected players for the duration of the State Championship. If a player is unable to commit for the entire Championship then they cannot be considered for selection. Selections shall follow the Regional Policy.
 
Teacher/Coaches wishing to be involved in selections need to indicate this on team registration sheets, and they must attend the Selectors Briefing at 8.00am.
 
Please note that “Possibles vs Probables” games MAY be conducted in all divisions this year.
 
The Convenor shall be responsible for the allocation of selectors and the conduct of all selections. The Regional Coach shall chair all deliberations.
As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
 
Competition
Rules:
RULES :
·      all games shall be 25 minutes only with no half time. There will be no turn around at half time and the team winning the toss shall choose the direction they will run for the entire 25 minutes.
·      Coaches should be aware of the current rules of Touch. (TFA edition 7) sub boxes will be in use. Substitution must be made from the sub box only. Teams are to be a maximum of 14 players.
·      all disputes to be adjudicated on by the Regional Convenor.
·      Players who are sent from the field (not a period of time) shall show cause why they are not prevented from further participation, and disregarded in selections.

Aid:
Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.

Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.
Team Managers are advised that due to the condition of the playing surface available it is advisable that all participants wear appropriate footwear. (In accordance with 7th Edition TFA)

In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on 27/4/2018. All other arrangements will remain the same.
