​Trials Commence at 7.30am for a 8.00am start​
​Venue ​Griffith University Tennis Centre, Sports Road, Mt Gravatt
​Catering ​A canteen will operate at the trial. You may bring own food
​Equipment​​ ​Students will need to supply all personal equipment. Tennis balls will be supplied. 
​Shade ​There is adequate shade available at the courts.
​Competitors ​Individual nomination forms sent directly to Ashley Bierton (abier1@eq.edu.au)
NOTE: STUDENTS SHOULD NOT NOMINATE UNLESS THEY HAVE AUSTRALIAN TENNIS RANKING AND/OR EXTENSIVE TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE.  DRAW WILL BE RESTRICTED TO 16 FOR MALES AND 16 FOR FEMALES.  SELECTION FOR TRIALS BASED ON AUSTRALIAN RANKINGS FIRST THEN CONVENOR DISCRETION.
​Cost ​Cost per student is $20 to cover venue costs, sports medicine etc. 

Students must pay the Trial Levy to your school after you have received confirmation that you have been accepted to trial.

You should receive confirmation whether you were successful or unsuccessful via your school and/or email by Monday 11 Feb. Please email abier1@eq.edu.au if you have not received confirmation by Tuesday morning (Feb 12)
​Umpires ​Students will umpire own matches. An official will be available at all times if there is a dispute.
​Trial ​Competition Draw and Feed In Draw
​Selection Procedures
  1. Restricted draw of 16 or less for both boys and girls.
  2. Rounds 1/2 - Main Draw: 1st to 6. Tiebreak at 5 all; Round 3: 1st to 9 Pro set.
  3. Semi Finals - Main Draw – 1st to 9 Pro set
  4. Feed-in for losers of rounds 1/2/3/4: 1st to 6 games. Tiebreak at 5 all.
  5. Semi Finals - Feed-in – 1st to 9 Pro set
  6. The semi-finals of both the main draw and feed in will be used to select the one team of four boys and one team of four girls
​Competition Rules ​Competitors will call their own end.  In the event of a dispute a player may ask to leave the court to get an official.
​First Aid ​Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
​Risk Management ​School personnel are advised to ensure that students provide and use appropriate personal safety equipment.

Students should be aware of the regional guidelines for hydration.

All medical conditions must be advised on the appropriate form. 

Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity. 

​Alternate Date In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, no further trials will be conducted. The team will be selected by the tournament convenor and regional officials.

  • Individual Nomination Form (Attached Below): to Ashley Bierton (Convenor) VIA EMAIL at: abier1@eq.edu.au no later than 08/02/2019
  • Authority & Consent Form (Part A) – to Mr Ashley Bierton on day of the trial
  • Parental Consent Form – to Mr Ashley Bierton on day of the trial
  • Student Details Form – to Mr Ashley Bierton on day of the trial
  • Medical Details Form – Mr Ashley Bierton on day of the trial
  • Principal Consent Form – to Mr Ashley Bierton on day of the trial

These are available from your School Sport Coordinator.

Students who do not have all documents will not be permitted to trial.

Students who cannot commit to attending the state championship which will be held in Miami Gold Coast 14 - 17 March 2019 should not attend this trial.

Please note that the levy for Met East Team Members will be approx. $350.00 This includes championship levy but does not include apparel. If selected in the Metropolitan East Team, payment of the levy will be required no later than 28 February.
