Officials Meeting:
A meeting of team officials will be held at Point Lookout at 8:00am
Catering:
Bring own food and water as there are no facilities near the event.
 
Equipment:
Students to bring own surfboard, sunscreen, hat and appropriate clothing.
 
Shade:
Shade will be provided.
 
Competitors:
Nominations will be on INDIVIDUAL BASIS, not by District Team. There will be a quota of twenty-four (24) students per event due to lack of available time for trials.
NOTE: Students must hold a Surf Survival, Surf Bronze Medallion, Surf Rescue Certificate or Community Bronze. Students who do not hold one of these awards will NOT be able to compete unless a Parent is present on the day.
Only those students who wish to be selected in the Metropolitan East School Sport Surfing Team to attend the State Championship being held on the Gold Coast 2-5 August should attend this trial.
 
District Nomination Form:
All interested students must complete the attached nomination form and return it to Sue Jenner at Dunwich State Primary School before Friday 9th  March
Cost:
Cost per student is $20 to cover venue costs, equipment, regional trial levy etc.
 
Cash payment of $20 to be paid to the convenor on the day of the trials.
 
Umpires:
Team officials and parents.
 
Trial:
Heat draw on day of Trials that will lead to elimination finals.

Procedures:
As per Metropolitan East Selection policy.
 
Competition
Rules:
Surfing Queensland Rules.
 
First
Aid:
Qualified Life Guards will be on duty.
 
Risk
Management:
Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.
 
Alternate Date:
 
In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on Thursday 29/03/2017. All other arrangements will remain the same.
 
Forms:
Individual Nomination Forms must be sent to the Regional Convenor Sue Jenner through the student’s school no later than Friday 9 March.
 
Invitation to trial is not automatic.  Students will be advised of their acceptance into the trial by notification through their school. If advice is not received by Wednesday 14 March students should contact the convenor, Sue Jenner via email.
 
A list of students selected to trial will also be emailed to District Sport Secretaries.
 
Upon receiving an invitation, the following Standard District Forms(available from school sport coordinators) must be completed in full and either emailed to the Convenor prior or given to the convenor on the day of the trial:
·         Authority & Consent Form (Part A)
·         Parental Consent Form
·         Student Details Form
·         Medical Details Form
·         Principal Consent Form (signed and stamped by the school Principal)
 
Students who do not have all documents/money will not be permitted to trial.
