​Trials Commence at ​8.30am
​Venue ​Sunnybank Rugby Union Club
​Officials Meeting ​A meeting of team officials will be held at 8.00am at the Rugby Club
​Catering ​A canteen will operate at the trial, but students can bring their own food. Please note: District Officials will not be catered for at this trial.
​Equipment​​ ​Students will need to supply all personal equipment  (e.g. boots, socks, mouthguard, strapping tape). Team jerseys should be supplied by District Coaches
​Shade ​There is shade available at the field. Players and supporters should ensure they bring their sun protection such as hats and sunscreen.
​Competitors

​Each District is invited to nominated players from their district that they consider possess the adequate ability and experience to trial for the Met East Under 18 Boys Rugby Union team.

If your district has more than 22 players interested in trialling or an abundance of players in particular positions than it would be expected you communicate this to the Convenor as early as possible so arrangements can be made so that the trial model can be adapted to provide the greatest opportunities for all students.

​District Nomination Form Each Trial Team Coordinator / Manager must return to the District Convenor Form C8 (Nomination of District Team to Attend Regional Trial)
​Cost

​Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.

Note that on the day, District Officials will be required to confirm the number of students representing their District. Invoices will be based on this information.

The District Manager’s/Treasurer’s school will be invoiced for this amount. Money will not be accepted on the day.

​Umpires ​QRRA referees and QRU development officers will be used for each game. However, team officials may be called upon to assist
​Trial ​General and position specific skill stations
3 or 4 - 22 to 25 player teams in round robin competition (depending on numbers)
​Selection Procedures ​As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
​First Aid ​All Team Managers are required to bring their own first aid kit.
Sports Medicine personnel will also be available for the duration of the trial.
​Risk Management

​An inspection of the venue will also be carried out on the morning of the trial by convenor and referees. 

Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity. 

​Alternate Date In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be advised. All other arrangements will remain the same.

​Venue ​Sunnybank Rugby Club
​Officials Meeting A meeting of team officials will be held at 8:00am on Monday 27 May at Sunnybank Rugby Club
​Catering ​A canteen will operate at the trial.
​Equipment​​ All playing equipment will be supplied.  Players will need to supply personal equipment (eg boots, mouthguards, head gear, etc.)
​Shade There is adequate shade available at the field.
​Competitors Each District is invited to nominate one team of 23 players. (As per attached District Team Details Form
)
​Cost Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.
​Umpires Where possible, Association Umpires will be used for each game.  However, team officials may be called upon to assist in umpiring when their own team is not playing.
​Trial ​Format of trials will comprise of skill station rotations in the morning, followed by short round robin games in the afternoon. 

Each district will be required to provide 2 officials to assist with the running of the skill stations.
​Selection Procedures As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
​First Aid Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
​Alternate Date In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on 3 June 2019. All other arrangements will remain the same.
