Venue:
Easts Hockey Club - Carina
Officials Meeting:
A meeting of team officials will be held at 8:15am
 
Catering:
A canteen will operate at the trial, with a selection of fresh fruit, sandwiches, drinks and snacks available.
 
Equipment:
Each team is required to supply their own:
·         warm up/training balls
·         1 match ball
·         playing uniforms with clearly visible numbered jerseys (for identification of players for selection purposes)
Students will need to supply
·         personal equipment (eg sticks, shin pads and mouth guards.)
·         Goal Keepers will require their own protective kits.
 
Shade:
There is adequate shade available at the field.
 
Competitors:
Each District is invited to nominate one team of 14 field players and up to 2 goal keepers (provided one is aged 16yrs or younger)

*** If your District has more players of a suitable standard than the number detailed above – please send me a separate attachment with their details & if another team is short of players we may be able to use them to form a combined team.
 
District Nomination Form:
Each District Secretary must return to the District Convenor Form C9 (Nomination of District Team to Attend Regional Trial).
 
 
 
Cost:
Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.
 
Note that on the day, District Officials will be required to confirm the number of students representing their District. Invoices will be based on this information.
The District Manager’s/Treasurer’s school will be invoiced for this amount.  Money will not be accepted on the day.
 
Umpires:
Where possible, Association Umpires will be used for each game.  However, team officials may be called upon to assist in umpiring when their own team is not playing.
** Should you have any students in your District who are badged umpires and would like to be considered for selection as a student official at the QSS State Championship, please include them on your team list and identify them as umpires.  We will then roster them on to games during the day to assess their suitability for nomination.**
 
Trial:
The Competition Draw will be dependent on the number of teams/players in attendance .It will consist of a round robin between teams followed by a possibles and probables game, with the added possibility of a workshop style session for Goal Keepers
 
Selection
Procedures:
As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
One teacher from each district will be required to attend all selection meetings scheduled throughout the day.
 
Competition
Rules:
Games will be played under BMHA rules.
Game time (TBC) – however all games will  start and finish on buzzer
 
First
Aid:
Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
 
Risk
Management:
Please ensure that all players are aware that:
·         No players are to enter the turf until they are instructed to do so by the event convenor.
·         No player will be permitted on the turf without shin pads
·         All players are STRONGLY ADVISED to wear mouth guards at all times when on the turf.
 
Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.
 
Alternate Date:
 
In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on Thursday 23/03/2017. All other arrangements will remain the same.

 Each team is required to supply Warm up balls; 1 X Match ball; Goalie Gear
 Students will need to supply Stick; Shin Guards; Mouthguard

  There is adequate shade available at the field.
 
Competitors:
Each District is invited to nominate one team of 13 – 16 players. (As per attached District Nomination Form)
 
District Nomination Form:

Girls requiring taping MUST supply their own tape

In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on 15/03/2017. All other arrangements will remain the same.
 
Forms:
Please return attached District Nomination Form C9 and District Team Details Form C10 to the Convenor no later than 01/03/2017 to the address as listed below.
 
District Team Managers are responsible for ensuring that all team members have completed their standard District Forms.
 
Students who do not have all documents will not be permitted to trial.
