Baseball Regional Trial Information

 

Combined 12-14 & 15-18years Baseball

(Two groups trialling separately)

​Trials Commence at 8.15am for an 8.30 start. Finish 2.30-3.00pm
​Venue ​Redlands Baseball Club; Duncan Road, Sheldon 4157
​Catering A canteen will be available on the day for lunch orders and snacks. Lunch must be pre-ordered. A list of food items available will be included with trial invitations. 
​Equipment ​Students will need to supply their own personal playing equipment (eg bats, gloves, etc.)

​Shade There is adequate shade available at the field.
t Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.

Once accepted into the trial, students must pay the Trial Levy to their individual school by Monday 11 February.  Schools will be invoiced by Met East after the trial.
​Umpires

Officials may be required to assist with umpiring duties for the afternoon game.

​Trial

Program to be advised by the coach on the day.  It will consist of drills, batting practice, throwing and fielding and a mock game.

​Selection Procedures As per MESSB Policy, the Coach and Manager/Regional Convenor are members of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
​First Aid Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
​Risk Management Sliding into bases will be mandatory unless otherwise indicated by the coach.  Water and ice will be available on the day. 
 ​
Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.

​Alter​nate Date If necessary due to inclement weather, the trial will be postponed to Thursday 21 February.   
​Forms ​Please return the following forms when nominating (all forms available from school sport coordinators):

  • Individual Nomination Form (fully completed)
  • Authority & Consent Form (Part A)
  • Parental Consent Form
  • Student Details Form
  • Medical Details Form
  • Principal Consent Form (signed and stamped by the school Principal) 

The Project Consent Form is to be retained by student’s school.

Students who do not return all documents will not be permitted to trial.

All forms should be returned by the student to the school’s Sports Coordinator by Wednesday, 6 February.

Note that invitation to trial is not automatic. Students will be advised of their acceptance into the trial by notification through their school. If advice is not received by Monday, 11 February, students should contact the Convenor Martin Stevens via email (mstev99@eq.edu.au)
