Trials commence at:
9 am
Venue:
Yeronga AFL Club (Cansdale St Yeronga)
Officials Meeting:
A meeting of team officials will be held at 9:00am
 
Catering:
A canteen will operate at the trial but it is also suggested to bring own food as well
 
Equipment:
Students will need to supply boots, mouthguards and strapping tape if required. Water bottles are a necessity.
 
Shade:
There is adequate shade available at the field.
 
Competitors:
Each District is invited to nominate one team of 23 players. (As per attached District Nomination Form)
 
District Nomination Form:
Each District Secretary must return to the District Convenor Form C9 (Nomination of District Team to Attend Regional Trial).
 
Cost:
                                             Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.
 
Note that on the day, District Officials will be required to confirm the number of students representing their District. Invoices will be based on this information.
The District Treasurer’s school will be invoiced for this amount.  Money will not be accepted on the day.
 
Umpires:
AFLQ development staff will be umpiring games.  However, teams will be required to supply boundary and goal umpires for the games they are not playing in
 
Trial:
Format of trials will be determined based on the number of nominations
 
Selection
Procedures:
As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.

Aid:
Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
 
Alternate Date: In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on 14/3/2017. All other arrangements will remain the same.

A meeting of team officials will be held at 12.30pm
 
Catering:
Bring own food as there are no facilities near the field.
 
Equipment:
All playing equipment will be supplied.
 
Shade:
There is adequate shade available at the field.
 
Competitors:
These trials are by individual nomination only.
Students who wish to trial are invited to complete the individual nomination form and schools are to forward it along with all other forms, directly to the Convenor to reach her no later than THURSDAY 9 MARCH 2017
Students will not be permitted to participate at this trial without having completed all forms.
No girl will be permitted to trial unless ALL forms are received by the convenor PRIOR TO OR ON THE DAY of the trials.
 
District Nomination Form:
These trials are by individual nomination only.
 
Cost:
                                              e.g. Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.
Students must pay the Trial Levy to the Regional Convenor on the day of the trials - NO MONEY, NO TRIAL

The Trial will include skills and match play
 
Selection

Aid:
Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
 
Risk
Management:
School personnel are advised to ensure that students provide and use appropriate personal safety equipment (e.g. Protective equipment, mouthguards).
 
Regional guidelines for hydration should be expressed to students.
All medical conditions must be advised on the appropriate form.
 
Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.
 
Alternate Date:
 
In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on 24/03/2017. All other arrangements will remain the same.
 
Forms:
Individual Nomination Forms must be sent to the Regional Convenor Sherelle Reid (Email: sreid@lhc.edu.gov.au) no later than Thursday 9 March.
 
Invitation to trial is not automatic.  Students will be advised of their acceptance into the trial by notification through their school. If advice is not received by Wednesday 13 March students should contact the convenor, Sherelle Reid via email.
 
A list of students selected to trial will also be emailed to District Sport Secretaries.
 
Upon receiving an invitation, the following Standard District Forms (available from school sport coordinators) must be completed in full and either emailed to the Convenor prior or given to the convenor on the day of the trial:
·         Authority & Consent Form (Part A)
·         Parental Consent Form
·         Student Details Form
·         Medical Details Form
·         Principal Consent Form (signed and stamped by the school Principal)
 
 
Students who do not have all documents will not be permitted to trial.
