Softball Regional Trial Information

​Date/s of Trial ​Thursday June 6, 2019
​Trials Commence at ​9.00am (finish approx. 2pm)
​Venue Redlands Softball Association, Ormiston​
​Catering ​There will be no canteen operating at the venue. Officials and students will need to bring their own food.
​Equipment​​ Students will need to bring all personal equipment (eg bats, gloves, helmets, catching gear if applicable etc.)
​Shade There is adequate shade available at the field.
​Cost Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.
​Umpires Suitably qualified and experienced umpires will be used when needed.
​Trial

​The event is a trial only.

Students will undergo a series of skill drills and assessments before playing scrimmage matches.

It is essential that districts assess their students’ fitness to trial at this level. While students experienced in softball are preferred, districts may send students if they consider that they have suitable complementary skills (e.g. throwing and catching, striking).
​Selection Procedures As per MESSB Policy, one teacher/teacher aide from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Selections will be final and no further play-offs will be held.
​Competition Rules This is a trial only.
​First Aid Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
​Risk Management Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.
​Alternate Date In the event that this trial is postponed due to inclement weather, the trial will be held on Tuesday 11 June 2019. All other arrangements will remain the same.
