Trials commence at:
8:45am with a meeting of players and parents (lead by coaches)
 
Venue:
State Hockey Centre, Lytton Rd, Colmslie
 
Officials Meeting:
A meeting of team officials will be held at 8.45am
 
Catering:
A canteen will be available for purchases or players may bring their own food.
 
Equipment:
Each team is required to supply balls for warm up – goalkeepers need to provide all equipment. Players MUST wear shin guards and mouthguards and provide their own stick etc
 
Shade:
There is adequate shade available at the field.
 
Competitors:
Each District is invited to nominate one team of 14 field players and one or 2 goalkeepers. If insufficient players for a team, districts may nominate a group of individuals. This must come through the district.
 
District Nomination Form:
Each District Secretary must return to the District Convenor Form C9 (Nomination of District Team to Attend Regional Trial) by Friday 31 March (before the holidays).
If your district does not have a full team, please indicate the approximate number of players who will be attending.
 
Cost:
                                              Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment, sports med etc.
Note that on the day, District Officials will be required to confirm the number of students representing their District. Invoices will be based on this information.
The District Manager’s/Treasurer’s school will be invoiced for this amount. 
 
Umpires:
Districts are asked to provide an umpire for each team or group of players. Please let me know if you are NOT able to provide an umpire so that suitable arrangements can be made. Non-student umpires may be paid.
 
Trial:
Girls will play a round robin then possible v probable
Boys will do a similar trial if there are sufficient entries. Otherwise the format will be a skills session followed by trial games – All boys are asked to bring both a black shirt and a white or light shirt.
 
Selection
Procedures:
As per MESSB Policy, one teacher from each district may be nominated as a member of the Selection Panel. Representatives of BHA may be invited to join the selection panel as consultants only. Selections will be final.
 
Competition
Rules:
As per HA rules – no trophy is being played for.
First
Aid:
Sports Medicine personnel will be available for the duration of the trial. Team managers are asked to scan the medical forms and point out to the Sports med any students with potential problems.
 
Risk
Management:
Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.
 
Alternate Date:
 
The trial will go ahead in light rain and students should be advised to bring a change of clothes in case they get wet. If the weather makes play impossible or impractical and the trial needs to be postponed, the event will be held on Wednesday 3 May.   All other arrangements will remain the same.

Team Managers should have all of the appropriate District forms in their possession on the day of the Met East Trials
Authority & Consent Form Part A –to District Manager on or before day of the trial
Parental Consent Form – to District Manager on or before day of the trial
Student Details Form – to District Manager on or before day of the trial
Medical Details Form – to District Manager on or before day of the trial
Principal Consent Form – to District Manager on or before day of the trial
Students who do not have all documents must not be permitted to trial.
