Trials commence at:
8.15am for an 8.30 start. Finish 2.30-3.00pm
Venue:
Redlands Baseball Club; Duncan Road, Sheldon 4157
Officials Meeting:
A meeting of team officials will be held at 8.15am in the clubhouse
Catering:
A canteen will NOT operate at the trial. Students MUST bring their own lunch and drinks. If this changes the Convenor will contact invited students directly by email to advise.
Equipment:
Students will need to supply their own personal playing equipment (eg bats, gloves, etc.)
 
Shade:
There is adequate shade available at the field.
 
Competitors:
N/A
 
District Nomination Form:
Fully completed (including full details of playing history) Individual nomination directly to the trial Convenor.
 
Cost:
                                              Cost per student is $20.00 to cover venue costs, equipment etc.
 
Students must pay the Trial Levy to the Regional Convenor on the day of the trials
Umpires:
Officials may be required to assist with umpiring duties for the afternoon game.
 
Trial:
Program to be advised by the coach on the day.  It will consist of drills, batting practice, throwing and fielding and a mock game.
 
First
Aid:
Sports Medicine personnel will be available from the duration of the trial.
 
Risk
Management:
Sliding into bases will be mandatory unless otherwise indicated by the coach.  Water and ice will be available on the day.
 
Note: A Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment has been completed for this activity.
 
Alternate Date:
 
The trial will not be postponed due to inclement weather; alternate skills-based activities will be held on the day to ensure each student can demonstrate skills.
 
Forms:
Students must return the following forms along with the Trial Nomination Form (all forms available from school sport coordinators):
 
·         Individual Nomination Form (fully completed)
·         Authority & Consent Form (Part A)
·         Parental Consent Form
·         Student Details Form
·         Medical Details Form
·         Principal Consent Form (signed and stamped by the school Principal)
 
Students who do not return all documents will not be permitted to trial.
 
All forms should be emailed the Convenor no later than Monday, 24 April 2017.
 
Invitation to trial is not automatic.  Students will be advised of their acceptance into the trial by notification through their school. If advice is not received by Wednesday 26 April students should contact the convenor, Martin Stevens via email.
